Love and Weddings

If you'd like to see more pictures of Tamara's bridal session, I'd love for you check them out!

It seems that this past weekend was a pretty popular weekend for love and weddings. Over the weekend, Brandon and I went to one of our friend's gorgeous wedding. Michael and Tamara, we couldn't be happier for you guys. The wedding was so much fun, and Tamara, you were absolutely stunning! Her dress is from Weddings by Debbie in Houston, and it couldn't have fit her any better. It was definitely made for her.

One thing that really hit home with me during their ceremony when the preacher was marrying Michael and Tamara when he read 1 Corinthians 13:4. After he read each line "Love is patient, love it kind" he gave a real life scenario of a man and wife being patient and kind to one another. But the one that really struck a nerve was "It does not boast, it is not proud." "It keeps no record of wrongs."

I don't ever want to be caught tearing down my husband or making fun of him in public (or in private for that matter). I don't ever want to keep score with Brandon either. This marriage we have together is such a blessing. I don't know what I would do without him. We are a team, not competitors. We don't keep tally marks of things we've done for each other or around the house, except when it comes to the dishes ;)

Brandon, I am so proud to be called your wife. I love you, babe.

  1. I just love how sweet this is. :) And your point that a marriage consists of a team and not competitors is SO important to remember! Love it!

  2. I agree completely, I don't ever tear my husband down publicly. You won't see a word of any of our struggles posted to the world on my blog or on facebook. But, I'll use those places to tell the world about the great things he does. I hate when people say that it gives an unrealistic picture of our marriage or that it's sappy. I can't help but think it's the best thing I do for our marriage. It shows I respect and appreciate him and it shows the world that too. You made some great points today!

  4. She looks absolutely beautiful! I'm not married yet, but I am engaged and I feel the exact same way that you do. I never want to tear down my future husband, he deserves respect and so much more.
