Monday Feature: So Very Blessed

How is it Monday again?? Well regardless, it's another Monday, and another week now behind us. And time for another Monday Feature (yay!). This week's Monday Feature is the lovely Becky from So Very Blessed. Becky is an awesome cook and baker, and she has the pictures to prove it. Her recipe list is insane. Who needs Pinterest when you have Becky's recipes and fabulous photos? Not this girl. Be sure to stop by her blog and make a new friend today!

Happy Monday to all of you!  And thank you, Alisha, so much for having me on your Monday Feature!

My name is Becky and the title of my blog (So Very Blessed…and a little crazy) pretty much describes our life!  I’ve been married to my husband, Daniel, for almost 5 years now.  I’m a sign language interpreter and I work in schools interpreting for Deaf and hard of hearing students. Daniel is just starting pharmacy school, though he’s had plenty of medical experience after spending 6 years serving as a combat medic with the Marines!

We have two cats, Taco and Chance, and they’re our only “babies” for now.  Our 2-year-old niece, Brianna, is our world and we’ll have a new niece or nephew any day now!

We currently live in Tucson, and though we’ve met amazing people here, I can’t wait to move back to Colorado in 4 years to be close to my family and live in a place with much more grass and much less cacti.

I originally started my blog (6 years ago!) to keep my family up-to-date on what was going on in my life after I started college and over the years it has had quite a transformation!  My blog is what got me interested in photography (because all blog posts are better with pictures!).  It has allowed me to share things that I’ve learned in my marriage through my Step In Your Marriage posts and most prominently, it has allowed me to share my recipes.

Over the past few years, my passion for food and cooking has grown so much and I love sharing the recipes that I come up with, which has mixed perfectly with my desire to grow in photography. I caught a lucky break in blogging when my Cheesy Quinoa Bites were published onto FoodGawker and then spread like wildfire on Pinterest, bringing lots of readers over to my little corner of the Internet!  I still have a hard time believing that so many people are trying the recipe that I came up with in our little apartment kitchen!

I hope that someday my future children will be able to look back at my blog kind of like a scrapbook, but the thing that I love the most about blogging is that it has connected me with people that I never would have been able to meet otherwise.  I get e-mails from people all over the nation that I’ve had the privilege to get to know and pray for.  I love reading other people’s blogs, learning from them, and building relationships.

I hope you’ll hop over to my blog and introduce yourself!  I’d love to get to know you!

  2. Thanks so much, Ashley! They're one of my husband's favorite ways to eat quinoa (the buffalo chicken quinoa bites are his favorite)! Nice to meet you too! I just hopped over to your blog - I love it! It sounds like you're living an adventure!
