A Wonderful Valentine's
The past few days leading up to Valentine's day have been a total blur. I started helping my friends over at Bay City Floral last week Thursday set up and get ready for Valentine's Day.
I can't even tell you how many flower arrangements and orders we had. We had sooo many orders to fill we ran out of flowers at one point. We had to have a truck deliver 700 more roses on Valentine's morning. Talk about A LOT of flowers. Good thing we did because we were still getting orders at 4 o'clock on Valentine's.
After prepping the arrangements with greenery and a few sprigs of baby's breath we added in the roses. I've never seen so many one dozen rose bouquets in one place in my life. Every single arrangement was absolutely beautiful.
Valentine's morning came, and we were all set to deliver out those beautiful arrangements.
My first delivery made me cry.
The lady was just precious. I knocked on her door. Waited patiently. I heard something stir inside, so I knew someone was home. When she opened the door and saw me with the arrangement she gasped and started to cry.
I asked her name and made sure she was the recipient of the arrangement. She was. She began to explain to me why she was crying. Her husband used to send her flowers every year for Valentine's, but he passed away this past January. She was shocked that someone sent her flowers as a reminder of her husband.
Her story made my eyes well up with tears. I leaned in to give her a hug and wished her happy Valentine's and a wonderful day. Delivering flowers is now my favorite part. Seeing the people's faces light up when they see the arrangement is the BEST feeling in the world.
Later on, Brandon and I went to dinner with our friends, Lindy and Stephen. We went to one of our favorite restaurants in town. The food was beyond delicious. The best four course meal I've had in a very long time. We were even serenaded at our dinner table. Definitely a great night out on Valentine's with my husband.
How was your Valentine's?
