I wanna leave more than just a trace in this life
Have you guys heard this song?
Lady Antebellum is one badass group. Whether you like country music or not, this song says a lot about living life and leaving your mark behind.
I want to be remembered in this life when I die. I want to somehow make a difference in this world. I want to help as many people as I can. And I want to leave more than just a trace of myself in this life.
The other day I was driving to work listening to my iPhone playlist, and this song played through the speakers. I didn't even know I had this song on my phone. I had never heard it before. Something about this song resinated deep in my soul. I don't remember putting it on my phone, but I'm so glad I did.
There's something about the lyrics, the melody and that harmony that pulls me in. Or maybe it's Hillary's awesome vocals. And to know that Hillary co-wrote this song says a lot about her how she feels about leaving her mark in this life.
I could listen to this song on repeat forever and probably never get tired of hearing it.
This is my favorite part:
Maybe I'll write like Twain wrote
Maybe I'll paint like Van Gogh
Cure the common cold, I don't know
But I'm ready start 'cause I know in my heart
Maybe I'll paint like Van Gogh
Cure the common cold, I don't know
But I'm ready start 'cause I know in my heart
I wanna do something that matters, say something different
Something that sets the whole world on its ear
I wanna do something better with the time I've been given
I wanna try to touch a few hearts in this life
Leave nothing less than something that says I was here
Something that sets the whole world on its ear
I wanna do something better with the time I've been given
I wanna try to touch a few hearts in this life
Leave nothing less than something that says I was here
"I know it's my destiny
To leave more than a trace of myself in this place"
To leave more than a trace of myself in this place"
Just wanted to share this with you. Hope you all have a fabulous Tuesday!
