the run
So I've been wanting to get back in shape for a while now, but somehow things keep getting in the way. Isn't that how it always happens? So many excuses...
Well anywho, yesterday I decided no more excuses, so I took Astro for a run. Man, were we a sight to see. I can't tell you the last time I ran. There's nothing like having your dog actually pull you along while you run, worse part though, he was walking. Actually, that's nothing compared to me trying multitask - trying to keep my ear buds from falling out, hold my iPhone in one hand, Astro's leash in the other hand, trying to wipe a runny nose and spit plastered on my face - all while running. Those are the times I really hope no is watching me. I mean, spit on my face. Hot mess, let me tell you.
The high school me would definitely kick my ass right now! Somehow I turned into a wimp.
Good look on running again! Great photo too! I miss running!
ReplyDeleteI've been making plenty of excuses for working out lately too. I just don't have the push I need yet to use what little free time I have to get out and run. Oh... and I've definitely had a spit plastered face while running before. It's beautiful! (:
ReplyDeleteWay to take the first step!!
GIRL! At least you got yourself out there!!!! I am seriously loving it. Sure I hate waking up early...having to force myself out of bed to put clothes on...but man, once i step foot out that door...I am glad I did! Hold on to that feeling! It's what's gotten me through! alsooo....you should check out the Workout genre on Pandora... preferably the Dance cardio! Music really gets me pumped, it's the best!!!
ReplyDeleteGood for you for at least getting out there and doing it! I don't even remember the last time I went for a run. Pretty sure it was sometime in February or March.
ReplyDeleteI'm in the same situation. I want to get back into running/working out but I feel like there's not enough time in the day (and I can't seem to pull myself off the couch). We should do some kind of buddy plan...distance buddy plan of course, lol.
ReplyDeleteGood luck getting back in the swing of things!
oh my gosh! that scene is all too familar for me! that's what i looked like when i started running. spit, snot, leash, earphones, gasping for air...but hey, i kept at it and just ran a 1/2 marathon...and then tore my meniscus. lol.
ReplyDeletethat is one of my favorite workout quotes on that picture! i always tell myself that! you can do it girl. i never thought i could run and i did my first 5k over the summer.
ReplyDeleteaaah! i feel the same way, my highschool self would be on the sidelines yelling perhaps not-so-encouraging things haha! Good luck on your quest for fitness!
ReplyDeleteGood for you, girl!! I am SO lazy and definitely not in shape. Well, I do have a shape, it's called round. : )
ReplyDeleteLike the pictures says at least you were not on the couch! Keep it up!
