Blessed

Waking up on the first sound of my alarm, having my morning coffee at home and kissing hubby goodbye for the day.  Definitely a great way to start any day.

I left the house a little earlier than usual yesterday morning, and there wasn't much traffic which is always a plus especially when your daily commute to and from work is an hour drive each way.

But, nothing like a small hiccup to start your day off.  About 10 minutes from work I start to hear something that is definitely not normal. I turn the radio into an unrecognizable hum, listen a few seconds more and I pull my car over to the shoulder. I open the door, and sure enough, a flat tire!  The first thing I think is it could've been a lot worse... I am so thankful my Heavenly Father was watching over me.

As I got out to survey the damage and get my spare tire out of the trunk, not even five minutes later a guy who conveniently works for Texas Department of transportation stopped to help me. Though I could've changed the spare all by my lonesome, I played the damsel in distress and let this nice man change my tire for me. As quick as he showed up, he packed up his car jack and said goodbye. I didn't even get his name. I said thank you, and he was gone.

I am blessed.

Start your day off great today, and take the time to do something nice for someone. You don't have to stop on the side of the road and change their tire, but something as simple as opening the door, saying hello or a simple smile. I'm telling you, it really goes a LONG way!

Happy Tuesday, loves!!

  5. This is such a great reminder of our power to positively affect others. We have the ability to help others have a happier day, but we too often take that for granted. Now I want to go out and smile at everyone! hehe

  10. I'm just now getting caught up on posts this week Alisha. So sorry I've been MIA but I love that your first thought after realizing that you had a flat tire was not something negative. You're a glass half full kinda girl! I like that :)

It was incredibly nice of the guy to stop and help you out! There are still good people out here and that's great to know!
