When it rains, it pours...

Top: Husband's, Jeans: Buckle, Necklace: IHOD, Belt: Thrifted, Boots: DSW

And lighting strikes. And thunder scares you so bad you pee your pants (wait, that's just me?). Well by the end of the day yesterday a storm blew in, the clouds turned a charcoal gray, and you could hear the wind howl. Not 10 minutes after leaving work, and it was pouring outside. The kind of rain where you can't see through your windshield even though your wipers look like they're about to take off in flight.

If it's not one thing, it's another. When I finally made it home, walked in the door, flipped on the lights, and... Nothing. No power (Well, poop!). I called husband, let him know, and he just said ok. OK? I half-expected him to hurry home, come to my rescue and fix it. Yeah, that didn't happen. But, I did get a little alone time. In the dark. In our hot house. And you know what I thought about? I thought about YOU.

You guys really do keep me going. Your encouragement, loving support, inspiration and friendship means the world to me. Without blogging I never would have met any of you, and for that I am thankful. Thankful for friendships forged through computer screens. Through emails. Through Twitter. Some of you are closer friends than some real-life friendships, and we've never even met. Thank you for being you and for blogging.

Now go have a happy day!

  1. I HATE crazy storms! A few weeks ago we have beautiful sunny days every day, but every night thunder and lightning took over (no rain though, just electrical storms). The thunder was CRAZY loud!!

  5. I wish we would get some storms up here in Dallas! We need them.... I hate when the power goes out. My fiance' does the same thing to me when I call him about stuff like that... it's like "ok, what do you want me to do about it from work?" Obviously, come home and fix it huh? LOL

  6. We never have summer thunderstorms in Northern California so I was secretly hoping we'd get one while in Chicago. No such luck (though I do NOT envy the power outage!!).

Nice outfit, btw! Perfect for a summer-to-fall transition too!
