New Experiences

Sorry for the lack of pictures for evidence of my wonderful accomplishment, but it's rather hard to take pictures for fear of water damage to your phone or camera.

This past weekend was full of new experiences for me. I wouldn't go as far to call myself a daredevil by any means, nor would I say that I'm very good at the things I try. But, I do try.

I've grown up on and around the water (lakes, rivers, beaches, etc), and basically any water sport that exists, I've tried. Boating, fishing, tubing, skiing, jetskis, knee-boarding, I've tried it all. BUT, I've never tried to wake board.

Wake boarding just seemed a little out of reach. The need to have more man strength than what I have available in these measly wimpy arms of mine just didn't seem possible. However, with husband's persistence I got out in the water, life jacket buckled up tight, and the rope in hand. I gave the driver a quick head nod telling him I was ready to go. The engine roared to life, and not even three seconds later I was face down in the water. I assume it was rather amusing for the onlookers, but that's coming from someone who laughs at herself more times than not.

Long story short, after several failed attempts and a few more face plants into the water, I was finally able to get on top of the water and follow behind the boat. What an experience! I actually stood up on top of the water on a board. You can just call me super woman, because that's what I felt like. Super. Accomplished. Successful.

  1. That sounds like so much fun! Though I don't think I would ever be as brave as you...I'd probably come up with excuses *not* to get on that board until my dying breath...I'm pretty much afraid of everything, if you didn't know.

But I hope you have an absolutely fantastic day, my dear!

    Lots of love,
    Joelle

  7. haha yay! Sounds like fun! Would I do it? Eh, I'm not sure. Though, I know I would do it before skydiving, which the hubby keeps trying to get me to do. Why jump out of a perfectly good plane, or better yet, why not stay on the ground? haha.
