Weekend in the Hill Country

Last weekend Brandon and I drove out to Lampasas, Texas. Ever heard of it?? It's out in the beautiful hill country, really in the middle of no where. Rolling hills, winding highways, trees everywhere, and mountains (OK, OK they're not really mountains, but in Texas that's the best we can get). Quiet, yet serene and gorgeous. Place for ranches, hunting leases, quaint B&Bs and most of all, miles and miles of prairies filled with beautiful wildflowers. We actually had our first bout of cool weather here in Texas last weekend. And by cool, I mean below 70F.  Let me tell you, it was fabulous! I can't wait until every day feels this good.

Our friends, Michael and Tamara, just recently got engaged, and we spent the weekend with them at their couples shower shooting skeet and watching the Aggies beat the hell outta Ole Miss. Still can't believe we pulled that one off. Whoop!! It's been ten years since I've shot a rifle, so I took a few lessons from Tamara's dad and started shooting. It took me close to 10 clays before I actually hit one, but I finally got the hang of it. B on the other hand was a pro from the start.

Needless to say, it was a wonderful weekend with great friends, beautiful weather and lot of fun shooting guns!
