Last Week
Last week was simply awesome.
Last week we worked on the new house.
Last week my parents came down to spend the week with us. They were so excited to help us work on the house.
Last week we hammered and nailed till our hands were sore. Last week we cut 12 sheets of plywood to finish the subfloors, and last week we finally finished running all of the electrical wires. We finally have POWER!
Last week I was intimidated by power tools but learned how to use them anyway. Everybody watch out, this girl knows how to use a nail gun and a circular saw and a reciprocating saw. Boo-yah!!
Last week we took our parents out to dinner where we were serenaded by an awesome English singer who sounded just like Dean Martin.
Last week I wrote my second column for YourTango. And last week it made the front page of the weekly email newsletter. Yeah, baby!
And, last week I unintentionally took a week long blog hiatus, and surprisingly, I was actually OK not blogging for those few days. I've learned that I have to have my priorities in line, and that it's OK to take a lil' break once in a while.
We're so thankful for everyone who has helped us so far make our new house a HOME. Each day we get a little closer to being done. James, Dad, Uncle Bobby, you guys rock!! Seriously, we can't thank y'all enough.
Our lights work!
Dad fixing the subfloor
Power tools intimidate me no more
Straight from the garden
Our first bouquet of flowers in the new house
Husband learning from Dad
Husband working on his own
Happy Monday, friends!
We're off to buy some more supplies for our home.
High five to another girl who can use a nail gun! LOL Sweet. My boss jokes that he's intimidated by me because he knows I can use a nail gun! :)
ReplyDeleteSo exciting that your house is coming along. The flowers are so pretty! Jealous because everything here is brown and dead right now.
A blogging break is much needed from time to time, I did admittedly come look to see if I'd just missed a post thought :)
It's starting to look so amazing, Alisha! I know first hand how exciting that process can be :) Wheee!
ReplyDeleteVery advanced.

ReplyDeleteI love the picture of the bouquet in the house. The contrast of the flowers with the roughness of the house in progress is beautiful. Great picture!
