Weather Related Ramblings
Hola!! I hope you all are doing fabulous!
we heart it
Please excuse my rant about temperatures and weather, but I do believe weather REALLY affects your mood. Now don't expect me to go out and pull up scientific research about this, so maybe I should clarify. The weather seriously affects MY mood!! How's that? :)
Yesterday was just one of those days. Simply stated, the weather had everything to do with it. A chilly cold front blew in early in the afternoon, and it's been downright COLD here in Texas. This goes for a lot of cities, but if you don't like the weather, wait a minute, it'll change. And sure enough, it did!
I kid you not, it was 56F yesterday morning. By noon it had dropped to 49F, and by 8:00pm it was 39F. And with the wind howling, it felt like 30F. This is downright torture for Texan natives (all data from The Weather Channel app via my iPhone). Thank you Apple for helping me realize how flipping cold it really is!!
That nasty cold front brought down my mood, moral, and overall work ethic. By 2pm yesterday, I had completely shut down. I wanted to go home. I wanted to be warm. It looked so depressing outside (cloudy, drizzly, cold), and that made me depressed. A gloomy day equals a gloomy attitude, it just seems to work that way.
However, today started off at a nice brisk 29F, and now, as I write this, it is 39F yet feels like 36F - a whopping 10 degrees warmer than this morning. The sun is shinning, there are a few clouds, but overall, it’s calm, quiet and beautiful outside! :)
I long to pause life sometimes, even if just for a split second. It’s the smallest moments in time that mean so much and you cherish the most. The moments when you wake up in a warm bed with your husband lying peacefully next to you; when you're dancing in the kitchen while making dinner, and your husband catches you and just smiles; when you laugh so hard you cry; when a phone call or text brightens your day; when you hold a bird in your hand, and it simply watches your every move; or when you realize that the sun shinning makes your day!!
It’s the small things in my life that I sometimes take for granted. And for that, I apologize.
I’m sorry Brandon for ever taking you for granted. I tell you I love you everyday, and I mean it every time I say it, but I want you to know that I appreciate you more and more every day. You are my best friend, and I love making memories with you. Even if it is just spending time together on the couch all cuddled up trying to get warm.
I’m sorry family, friends, and new blogger friends for ever taking you for granted. A simple thank you goes a long way, so THANK YOU for being you! Thank you for taking time out of your precious day to read my ramblings on life, love, and other things. You mean so much to me.
I love you all!!
Hope you have a lovely weekend!
Oh my gosh, it was JUST like that here, too!! We started out in the high 30's just like it had been for the past few days. By the time I left work that afternoon, it was literally 25 degrees with a chilling wind!
